M.P Nsereko Shines As Wazei Triumph At Inaugural Invitational Futsal Tourney

Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Muhammed Nsereko produced a bizarre performance that witnessed his Wazei side win the inaugural futsal invitational tournament held on Sunday at Lugogo.

Nsereko hailed the high level of professionalism and the nature of the game that is suitable for the working class to keep fit.

This is a very good game for networking and keeping fit. I believe everybody should start playing this game.

Nsereko, who also scooped the most Valuable Player of the tournament said.

 

Wazei team boosting of star studded team with the likes of Martin Mpuuga (SCVU), Fred Agandu (KJT Rwenshama) and Kamada ‘Ndiefi’ Ssebagala (The Saints F.C), came top of the four guest sides that included FUFA XI, Galaxy F.M and NBS T.V.

In the institutions’ category, Makerere University Business School (MUBS) were victorious after a round robin format of play that had two other universities – Kyambogo and Kampala International University.

Left winger Baker Lukooya, Maxwell Okello scored to inspire MUBS in the final game during their 3-1 victory over Kyambogo University.

The Nakawa based institution had also won on penalties (6-5) in their opening match against Kampala International University.

FUFA Technical Director, Asuman Lubowa, chief guest at the event appreciated all the participating teams and urged more players to take on the game.

Futsal is a great brand of football that the federation is trying to develop. For all of you who are participating, keep up the spirit and I would encourage more players to take on the game.

This was the first official Futsal tournament played in Uganda under FUFA and the sport’s new association, Futsal Association of Uganda.
