Ahead of the long awaited start to the prestigious 18^th Pearl of Africa rally, Hima cement has offered a U.shs 20M sponsorship package to the organizers.

Announcing the package at Panamera entertainment Hub in Kololo on Tuesday morning, Allan Ssemakula, the marketing manager at Hima Cement reminded the media and few drivers in attendance, the company is well passionate about the event.

Hima Cement is sport friendly. We have sponsored the pearl rally before and we are engaged in rugby as well as golf. We shall continue to support sports in the best way possible

The 18th edition of the Pearl of Africa Rally will be approximately 778 Kms.

It will be run on gravel roads in private forests and coffee plantations 150 Kms North West of Kampala, around the town of Mubende.

Crews will cover two sections on Saturday 29th August at Zion Estates in Matugga, before they proceed to Mubende district on day two.

Safety of Drivers and Fans:

We are mindful of the safety of our drivers and rally fans. There are stringent safety measures that have been put in place.

The rally, which starts this Friday with the super special stage at Zion Estate in Matugga will take place on closed routes as one way of improving safety.

Fuel marketer, Vivo Energy is the main sponsor of the rally.
